Get ready, Avatar fans! The world of Avatar: The Last Airbender is expanding on Nickelodeon! The new sequel series Avatar: Seven Havens is officially greenlit. The animated show will have 26 episodes divided into two seasons. This news comes in celebration of the 20th anniversary of The Last Airbender, which first aired on February 21, 2005.
Under Avatar Studios of Nickelodeon Animation, is currently in production. 400;">Seven Havens. The co-creators of Avatar, Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, will lead the project. The story takes place after the events of Legend of Korra, where a young Earthbender discovers he is the new Avatar after Korra. But in this new world, being an Avatar isn't a blessing—instead, he's considered a threat to humanity. Enemies from the human and spirit worlds are after him, so he must, along with his long-lost twin, discover their origins and save the Seven Havens before the rest of civilization collapses.
In a statement, DiMartino and Konietzko, "When we created the original series, we never thought we'd expand the its world after several decades. This new chapter of the Avatarverse is full of fantasy, mystery, and new amazing characters. Get ready for another epic and emotional adventure!"
The Seven Havens will be the third animated Avatar series, where DiMartino and Konietzko are the co-creators and executive producers, Ethan Spaulding is the executive producer, and Sehaj Sethi is the co-executive producer.
