
Seven people were injured after a jeepney collided with nine other vehicles on Samson Road, Caloocan, on Wednesday night. According to Pat. Maria Magdalena Obrial from Caloocan City Police, said the jeepney was going to Malabon when the driver lost control due to brake failure.
Because of this, the jeepney crashed into a car, two motorcycles, a tricycle, two bicycles, and three other jeepney. In addition, two pedestrians were also injured in the accident. One of the victims is a 17-year-old pedestrian who sustained minor injuries, while four of them are currently in the hospital.
According to some witnesses, the jeepney was going fast before it lost control, causing more serious damage to the vehicles that were affected in Caloocan collision. Loud shouts and the noise of the crash were also heard, which caused fear to the people around.
The authorities and rescue teams immediately responded to help the victims of the jeepney accident. Some of them were taken to the nearest hospital for immediate treatment. Meanwhile, the others were only treated at the scene of the accident after ensuring that their injuries were not serious.
The driver of the jeepney has been arrested and will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in multiple physical injuries and damage to property. The investigation is ongoing to determine if there was negligence on the part of the driver or if there were other factors that caused the incident.
