Recently, a Filipino woman, Pamela Antonette Tadoy, accused her Chinese husband, Li, of domestic violence and continued harassment of her and her family after their separation in a radio program hosted by Senator Raffy Tulfo. The incident attracted widespread attention, and Tulfo told the program: "He should be deported!"
Pamela revealed that in September 2023, her husband thought she was having an affair because she chatted with a male friend (a high school classmate) using their native language, and he raised his hand. A video released by the program team showed that not only was her husband abusing her, but Li also destroyed household items, shocking the guests and the audience.
Pamela also said that Li was the one who really cheated. In June 2024, he found a kiss mark on his wife's neck and decided to divorce. There are also reports that Li's "coworker" gave birth to a child at the end of January 2025.
During the program, Li showed emotion and tried to defend himself, saying that he continued to send money to his wife and family. During the conversation, he suddenly lost control of his emotions and hit his head on the table several times, and was then escorted out of the program by security personnel.
Pamela added that Li offered P2 million to the neighbors to monitor his whereabouts.
Because of this, Senator Tulfo said that although Li wants to see the child, his violent behavior is no longer suitable to continue the marriage, and advised Pamela to file a formal complaint with the authorities. Tulfo also mentioned that the Philippines does not accept domestic violence and the program team promised to help Pamela file a complaint with the Bureau of Immigration for deportation.
According to Dana Sandoval, spokesperson of the Philippine Bureau of Immigration (BI), although Li has a permanent residence visa, his visa may be canceled or he may be blacklisted for deportation if he is found to be involved in domestic violence.
Currently, the police have intervened in the investigation and increased security for Pamela and her family to prevent any further harassment or retaliation from Li. The case is still under investigation.
