Ducati has once again made a splash in its cruiser line-up with the release of the new XDiavel V4, a model that is more powerful, lighter, and has added innovative features. Starting in May, it will be available in dealerships, replacing the old 1260 model.
The new XDiavel V4 uses the 1158cc Granturismo V4 engine, replacing the old model's 1262cc Testastretta DVT V-twin. In addition, the belt-driven rear wheel has also been replaced with a chain drive for a more modern design.
Capable of delivering 166bhp and 93lb.ft of torque, it has a 10bhp increase over the previous model. In addition, it also takes longer before maintenance is needed – 15,000km for an oil change and 60,000km for a valve clearance inspection.
In the chassis, the steel trellis frame has been replaced by a lightweight aluminum monocoque attached to the front of the cylinders. In addition, the motor is 6kg lighter, with a total weight of 229kg. The new suspension provides longer travel, while the brakes are top-tier Brembo Stylema with dual 330mm discs at the front.
For tech, it has a 6.9-inch TFT dash with smartphone connectivity, cornering ABS, traction control, wheelie control, and cruise control. There are four ride modes: Sport, Touring, Urban, and Wet. It also comes with a quickshifter, adjustable footpegs, a more comfortable passenger seat, a new 20 liter tank, and LED headlights.
In short, the new XDiavel V4 is a perfect combination of power, style, and technology for cruiser enthusiasts.
