Universal Pictures has released the full trailer for the highly anticipated live-action remake of How to Train Your Dragon. It's helmed by Dean DeBlois, the director of the original 2010 animated classic. The adaptation promises deeper character dynamics, an expanded mythology, and stunning live-action visuals.
Regarding the remake, DeBlois said that this is the opportunity to further deepen the story of the characters and the world of Berk. "Due to the limited resources and the quick production of DreamWorks' first film, there were parts of the story that we didn't fully delve into," said DeBlois at a trailer unveiling event. In the live-action adaptation, deeper relationships, richer character development, and an expanded mythology are to be expected.
One of the notable changes is Astrid's more detailed story. “Nico Parker will play Astrid, and it adds to the idea that she's from a different culture,” shared DeBlois, hinting at a new aspect that will give this adaptation a unique brand.
Fans will be reunited with Hiccup and Toothless when the film hits theaters this coming June 13. Watch the full trailer above!
