The Weeknd premieres the fourth single "Red Terror" from his sixth album Hurry Up Tomorrow, accompanied by a terrifying music video a few days after its release. Directed by Eddie Alcazar, The Weeknd is shown as a mouthless boy who seems to be chased by monsters in a terrifying forest as he tries to abandon his original form.
As The Weeknd prepares final plans for his album under his current stage name, the music video for "Red Terror" seems to fit in with the artist's process of shedding "The Weeknd" persona to become Abel again. In a claymation video, the visuals entice fans with the sensational theme and it follows singles like "Timeless" featuring Playboi Carti and "São Paulo" featuring Anitta.
Ahead of the album's release, The Weeknd spoke to Variety about his transition away from being The Weeknd, "Part of me thinks, 'Your voice is over because it's over; you've said what you want to say.'" He added, "'Don't extend the party — you can finish it and live happily.' You know? Give it all: Hurry Up Tomorrow? When is the right time to leave, if not at your peak, it's time to change."
The Weeknd's After Hours Til Dawn 2025 Tour kicks off in May and tickets go on general sale February 7 at 10 a.m. local time.
