Marc Marquez, the Spanish MotoGP champion, continues to hold the record as the youngest world champion in motorsport history. In 2013, at the age of 20 years and 266 days, he won his first MotoGP title, replacing Freddie Spencer's record as the youngest champion.
But now, Marquez has a new target – chasing Valentino Rossi's record for the oldest MotoGP world champion. If Marquez succeeds in the next few years, he will be older than Rossi was when he last won the world title, at the age of 30 years and 251 days.
After grueling years of injury and trials, including breaking his arm in 2020, Marquez has continued to rise. With his move to Gresini Ducati in 2024, he achieved three factory podium wins and re-entered the top three in the annual points standings.
But, Marquez knows that chasing Rossi's record won't be easy. "I need more hard work and training if I want to get this record," said Marquez.
