At CES 2025, Honda presented the “0 Saloon” and “0 SUV,” two EV prototypes from their 2026 0 Series. Along with the new sleek models, Honda also quietly unveiled the first major change to its logo since 1981.
Both the “0 Saloon” and “0 SUV” feature a redesigned “H” emblem on their hoods, which is wider and the box framing the current emblem is gone. However, the new logo is not that new, as it is a simplified version of Honda's first H emblem introduced in 1961.
Before the logo from the 60s, which was used until 1969, Honda's classic wing logo from 1947 adorned the company's vehicles in various styles. In 1981, the familiar rounded square with a taller “H” was introduced, an icon that Honda still uses today.
Along with the brand identity change, a futuristic sans-serif “Honda” wordmark was also revealed on the back of a prototype shown at CES 2025. As Honda continues to share details about their upcoming EVs, it is likely that there will be a more in-depth look at the automaker's new visuals in the coming days.
However, Honda isn't the only automaker changing its brand identity for the EV revolution. Audi's China-exclusive EVs replace the German brand's interlocking circle logo with the sans-serif “AUDI” wordmark, and Jaguar recently unveiled a bold rebrand, which met with mixed reactions.
