As part of the brand's annual tradition of releasing Lunar New Year-themed watches, Swatch has released two new models in celebration of the coming year of the snake.
The Blue and Golden Lithe Dancer, with a larger 47mm dial, has similar decorations painted on a matte blue band. The oversized dial has a gold case and is accented with a bright orange seconds arm and pusher. Both watches have glow-in-the-dark hands and 3 bar water resistance, allowing use in a variety of conditions.
While Swatch is adept at taking inspiration from traditional Chinese aesthetics, the designs have a contemporary style incorporating tonal graphics, uneven art compositions, and sleek hardware. The combination of modern elements and ancient inspiration reflects the spirit of the wood snake – a symbol of growth and adaptability.
