For winter lovers, Grand Seiko has launched a duo of Hi-Beat 1998 Revival timepieces with an “Icefall” pattern on the dial. As the name suggests, the dials take inspiration from the frozen waterfall on Mount Iwate, located near the Grand Seiko Shizukuishi Watch Studio.
Both watches are a modern reinterpretation of the first Grand Seiko mechanical timepiece from 1998. It has a 55 hour power reserve and both are equipped with the in-house 9S85 caliber.
The SBGH347 is encapsulated in the Japanese watch brand's Ever-Brilliant Steel, has a 37mm case size, and is accompanied by a matching steel bracelet. It is currently available for purchase from the brand with a price tag of $6,900 USD.
Meanwhile, the SBGH349 is made of High-Intensity Titanium, which is 30% lighter than stainless steel and has higher rust resistance and is hypoallergenic. The case has a diameter of 40mm, and it is complete with a titanium bracelet and a three-fold clasp for fastening. There will be an official launch in January 2025 and will be sold at a price of $7,400 USD through Grand Seiko.
