Forget the hype about the Trader Joe's canvas tote! BEAMS and L.L. Bean came together to improve the design of the Boat and Tote bag first launched in 1944.
The L.L. Bean Boat and Tote is one of the most popular products of the American outdoor brand. Despite the passage of time, it remained largely unchanged—until BEAMS came along. The Japanese fashion label has given a new look to the classic model by incorporating elements of archival L.L. Bean Zipper Duffle Bag at the base of the Boat and Tote.
BEAMS added a double zipper to the mouth of the bag for safer storage, while retaining the deep bottom design and functional exterior pockets of the original.
In addition to durable leather handles, the bags come with a removable crossbody strap for more wearing options. The collection comes in two retro colorways: a model with a navy body and green tape, and a brown model with green tape, both offered in Mini, S, M, L, and XL sizes.
The BEAMS x L.L. Bean Boat and Tote will launch on Saturday, December 7 at BEAMS PLUS and BEAMS BOY stores, as well as the official BEAMS web store.
