BANDAI SPIRITS, part of TAMASHII NATIONS, has officially launched their new original project, 『MECHA＋I THE STORY OF REG4 UNIT』, along with its story and setting. They plan to release model products, comics, and other content in 2025.
『MECHA＋I THE STORY OF REG4 UNIT』 is set in a fictional future world where humans have developed advanced technology and teamed up with cyborgs to establish bases on the moon and conduct explorations. However, the world is suddenly attacked by unknown atomic lifeforms, leading to the extinction of humanity.
One hundred years after the destruction, the remaining cyborgs continued the technologies left behind by humans and created new generations of cyborgs called Humarians. These Humarians resemble humans, possess human-like hearts, and use AI-powered mecha-beasts called REG4 to fight against the atomic lifeforms.
The main character in the story is ARIA EVELIS, a Humarian who lives in the 4th protected zone. Though she is teased as "useless ARIA," she remains unaffected and continues to live quietly. However, one night, the 4th protected zone is attacked by atomic lifeforms, and ARIA, witnessing the destruction of the area, joins the battle using the AI-powered mecha-beast called AXIOS.
Recently, TAMASHII NATIONS showcased prototypes of the S.H.Figuarts figures for the main character ARIA and her dog companion BIGS, as well as the prototype model of the AI-powered mecha-beast AXIOS. There is no specific release date for these models yet. At the same time, the MECHA＋I comic series will begin serialization on the bandanacomic website in 2025.
