Bagong Proyekto ng Bandai: 'SPACE COLONY side7 1st ver.'

BANDAI SPIRITS Collectibles Toy Division TAMASHII NATIONS announced their latest project, 'SPACE COLONY', at the annual exhibition TAMASHII NATION 2024. Based on the theme from Mobile Suit Gundam, the exhibit showcased the prototype of the product currently in development, called "side7 1st ver."

The famous Space Colony SIDE7: Noa from the Universal Century series served as the beginning of the stories in Mobile Suit Gundam and Mobile Suit Z Gundam. It was home to the main characters, Amuro Ray and Kamille Bidan. During the One Year War, SIDE7’s proximity to the Earth Federation military fortress, Luna II, made it the ideal testing ground for V Project Mobile Suits, including the Gundam.

Because of this, Char Aznable and his reconnaissance team attacked the colony, leading to a clash between the Gundam and Zaku, which resulted in widespread damage and the death of many residents.

The 'SPACE COLONY side7 1st ver.' is designed based on the imagery from the original Gundam series, with the massive colony, several kilometers long, scaled down to fit on a tabletop. It is intricately crafted to showcase the outer walls, solar panels, and other complex components. Through a transparent cover and pieces with an imprinted bird's-eye view, the interior towns of the colony can be seen. The prototype displayed additional features like rotation and lighting to simulate the actual operation of the colony.
