Contemporary American artists Futura and Kenny Scharf have come together to create a limited edition sculpture set in collaboration with AllRightsReserved.
The two artists have been long-time friends. They held their first joint exhibition at the Tony Shafrazi Gallery in New York in 1984, which marked the beginning of their artistic careers and journey. In their latest collaboration, Futura and Kenny Scharf perfectly express their chemistry and creative perspectives in a joyful yet dynamic way.
Called "Untitled," the new set of stainless steel sculptures features two pairs of characters, each aboard a unique UFO. Futura's emblematic FL-001 "Pointman" takes the role of a passenger in a metallic purple spaceship, seemingly being sent off by ESPACIO, Kenny Scharf's quirky character. The shape of the spaceship has a more whimsical design, inheriting Scharf's distinct artistic language.
Meanwhile, the silver UFO has a more traditional silhouette. The Futura FL-003 matches the color of the spacecraft, showcasing his control over it. Alongside the robot companion is LUCKY, a six-eyed, canine-like creature created by Scharf.
Starting from November 6, 10 p.m. EST / November 7 at 11 a.m. HKT, the "Untitled" sculpture set by Futura and Kenny Scharf will be available for order through the DDTstore website as a limited release.
