Finally, Yamaha has given significant changes to the MT-07. Since redefining the twin cylinder street bike in 2014, the Yamaha MT-07 has become one of the most developed models in Europe. Under the "Japanese Dark Side" design, the MT-07 has attracted the attention of fans around the world with its futuristic appearance and powerful engine. In 2025, Yamaha brought a major change to the MT-07, offering a new look, higher technical specifications, and a professional Y-AMT version.
Focus on MT-09, new generation of family look!
In addition, the Y-AMT automatic manual transmission system was first introduced on the MT-07, which allows riders to switch between manual and automatic changes, and includes a cruise control system that improves the comfort of long trips.
There is also a standard MT version, but it does not have the cruise control feature. However, it can be optionally upgraded with a QS quick shifter to improve combat capability. How do you choose?
Compared to the previous generation, the new MT-07 has a wider handlebar, with an extra 18 mm in width, 22 mm reduced and 9.3 mm moved back, while the footpegs have been reduced by 10 mm, giving more space for the rider's legs.
With all the new technologies, the 2025 MT-07 should increase by 4.5 kg in weight, but the latest model weighs 183 kg, which is 1 kg lighter than the previous generation.
The new tire using the patented Yamaha spinning process saves 480g in weight, reducing rotational inertia while driving and improving flexibility.
Moreover, the battery and die-cast aluminum triangle parts provided a significant reduction in weight. The simple body design of the fourth generation MT-07 also saved 600g in weight.
The new 5-inch full-color TFT instrument panel provides smartphone connectivity, allowing riders to manage music, calls, and change riding mode settings through the MyRide app. The Garmin StreetCross app is also included for the navigation feature. The installed 690cc CP2 parallel twin engine has a maximum horsepower of 73.4 hp and a maximum torque of 67 Nm.
Similar to the MT-09, it added a sound enhancement system, which amplifies the sound of the engine through the duct between the tank and the engine, especially during acceleration, providing a more lively sound experience. Indeed, it's no surprise that it's from a company that makes instruments!
The 2025 MT-07 and MT-07 Y-AMT will be offered in three colors: Ice Storm Gray, Classic Blue, and Tech Black, and will have a variety of Yamaha original accessories to meet riders in deeper experience the "Japanese Dark Side" spirit.
