In yesterday's Senate hearing, the victims confronted Apollo Quiboloy and revealed their experience of alleged sexual abuse as part of their "spiritual journey." According to them, Quiboloy used the Bible to justify his actions, considered the "sacrifice" of their bodies.
Teresita Valdehueza, a former KOJC leader, recounted how Quiboloy used her in 1993, pretending it was a "divine revelation." He began to doubt his faith but was afraid to speak out because of fellow victims who were also silent.
Another victim, Ukrainian national Yulya Voronina, described the grooming done to her by Quiboloy's men to prepare her for sexual abuse. He revealed how Quiboloy uses Bible verses to force his pastorals to "sacrifice" their bodies for him.
Amid the accusations, Quiboloy vehemently denied all the allegations. He insisted that it was a "trial by publicity" and said that the complaints against him should be filed in court.
