The robotics experts at Robosen are back with a new project involving Disney and Pixar, bringing Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story to life as a robotic figure. The trio previously came together for a robotic version of Buzz based on the 2022 film Lightyear and have now taken it to infinity and beyond, while the Toy Story-based Buzz has been in development for the past three years.
Taking a closer look at the robot, it is rich in functionality, starting with eyes and a mouth that can move. His right hand features a light-up laser and provides sound from over 200 authentic audio clips from Disney. On his left arm, you can open and close the wrist communicator to access Star Command mission logs with pre-built actions. Buzz's jetpack wings can expand and retract, triggering flashing green and red lights. Fans may remember “Spanish Buzz” from Toy Story 3, who can be brought to life by pressing his green chest button. The blue button entered “Demo Mode” and the red button triggered his “Inner Voice.” For added discretion, each figure comes with an extra footplate to write your name on, as well as blessed hands for posing. Its technical features include voice and app control modes, with programming available through a phone app or web-based app.
For those looking to purchase the new Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Robotic Action Figure from Robosen, it is available for pre-order at Disney for $599 USD (approximately PHP 34,000). At the time of writing, the figure is set to be available on November 11.
