Porsche has launched a unique 718 Spyder RS Panamericana Special, commemorating 70 years since the brand's victory in the 1954 Carrera Panamericana in Mexico and showcasing its ongoing collaboration with TAG Heuer. This vehicle is the final part of Porsche's tribute trilogy, inspired by the iconic 550 Spyder and produced through the exclusive Sonderwunsch personalization program.
This tribute car pays tribute to Hans Herrmann's historic third place in 1954, where he also achieved victory in the Sport category for cars up to 1500 cc. That success was crucial for Porsche, cementing the brand's motorsport legacy and influencing the development of the Carrera name for later models.
The 718 Spyder RS Panamericana Special features distinctive design elements, including Centenaire silver aerodynamic components, Carmine Red fender stripes, and yellow “55” numbers that pay homage to Herrmann's race-winning 550 Spyder. Inside, the car offers luxurious details such as Carmine Red leather seats, embroidered Carrera Panamericana logos, and a watch mount integrated under the armrest for the exclusive TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon x Porsche Panamericana.
“This vehicle not only celebrates the success of Porsche in Mexico but also the stories that have shaped the brand,” said Tobias Eninger, CEO of Porsche Latin America. “It completes our trilogy of models inspired by the Panamericana, paying homage to our motorsport heritage and the Carrera Panamericana.”ue of arranging type to make written language legible, readable and appealing when displayed.
