The HOBBY Division of BANDAI SPIRITS Company from Japan has collaborated with Specimen Research Laboratory (SRL), the planting branch of Japanese fashion brand NEIGHBORHOOD, to launch an innovative bonsai art-themed assembly model called "SRL BONSAI MODEL KIT," which is expected to be released in March 2025!
"SRL SPIRITS BONSAI MODEL KIT" is an assembled model that uses resin mixed with wood powder to properly recreate the rough bark and wood texture of the tree. The sinuous lines of the branches are really brought out with mold technology, expressing the quiet beauty of bonsai.
The design shows the needle parts of four types of five-leaf pine. During the assembly process, you can measure the delicacy of the soft needles and the unique balance, and feel the artistry of the potted plants while assembling. The moss on the base is also carefully reproduced on the surface to give it a detailed look. The bottom uses an original designed rectangular low basin shape, embossed with the words NEIGHBORHOOD, BANDAI SPIRITS, and SPECIMEN RESEARCH LABORATORY. In addition, there are three types of potted plant branches with different thicknesses and with metal wires wrapped around them to adjust the posture, which truly represents the effect of using iron wire to modify the original direction of growth of branches. The overall outline of the elegant form of the potted plant is full of charm, depicting traditional Japanese style and embodying the epitome of nature.
