There's a new LEGO Ideas set celebrating the iconic pyramid of Daft Punk's Alive 2007 tour.
Created by Patrick Harboun and his son, the 2,000-piece build features a motor-powered rotating box of transparent bricks inside the pyramid and overhead lighting that recreates the memorable tour prop. Of course, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo were also on set, but Harboun provided an alternative version of the duo's helmets for any legal issues regarding their appearance in Pharrell's Piece By Piece LEGO documentary.
This father and son's set during the lockdown was conceptualized as a “creative escape” and won the Grand Prize at the global Music To Our Ears! competition by LEGO, but unfortunately, it was not selected for the official release. “We're both huge fans of Daft Punk, this build is a fusion of two passions,” said Harboun. "I spent my teenage years listening to Homework on my Walkman, while my son's favorite song when he was a baby was 'Get Lucky.' It was only natural to combine our love of Daft Punk's music and LEGO."
