GoPro has announced their latest devices – the HERO13 Black and HERO – a new action camera duo for all price points.
The brand's flagship device is back in its fifteenth version, the aptly titled HERO13 Black, building on the series' Emmy-award-winning credentials to deliver the best action camera GoPro has ever produced. The HERO13 Black can capture 5.3K quality video at 60 frames per second, promising crystal clear footage in any situation. It can also capture slow-motion video better than any HERO before it, capable of recording 400 frames per second at 720p quality for what the brand calls “13x Burst Slo-Mo”. Higher-quality slow-motion video can also be captured at slightly lower frame rates, with 360 frames per second at 900p and 120 frames per second at full 5.3K resolution.
Regarding video quality, the HERO13 Black can capture video in hybrid log-gamma (HLG) format. This will give professionals and prosumers the opportunity to capture the action in a more controlled format in post-production. The battery of the new HERO13 Black has also improved compared to the previous generation, with a 10% increase in capacity that is said to be effective in all weather conditions. Additionally, connectivity has improved and the HERO13 Black now has WiFi 6 technology for “up to 40%” faster content transfer speeds. In addition, the new camera has Magnetic Latch Mounting for easy use and changing of accessories, improved GPS functionality, and can also be used with swappable lenses and lens attachments from GoPro's 'HB-Series' including ultra -wide, anamorphic, and macro lenses, as well as four different ND filters.
Alongside the new flagship model is the HERO, a small action camera that GoPro calls “the smallest, lightest, easiest to use and cheapest 4K camera with a screen.” The HERO weighs only 86 grams and is almost half the weight of its bigger brother HERO13 Black (46% lighter, for exact data). It is waterproof up to 16ft (5m) and has touch screen controls including a button used to activate recording.
Kaya ng HERO na kumuha ng slow-motion video sa 2x speed sa buong 4K, pati na rin ng still photos sa 12 megapixels. Ang battery nito, bagamat maliit, ay na-optimize para dito at tumatagal ng 100 minuto sa pagitan ng charges.
You can pick up the GoPro HERO13 Black ($399) and HERO ($199) now via the brand's website.
