Following the announcement of the new Grand Seiko collections last week, Seiko has now released three new timepieces for this season, including signature models such as the King Seiko and Prospex Speedtimer.
Prospex Speedtimer Mechanical Chronograph
Returning to the archives, the duo of Prospex Speedtimer mechanical chronographs faithfully replicate Seiko's Reserved Panda model from 1972. Coming in Sunrise Blue and Glossy Black colorways, the timepieces have a 42mm case size and are made of stainless steel with matching multi-row bracelet. The new models are powered by in-house movements, specifically Seiko's 8R48 mechanical chronograph caliber with a 45-hour power reserve. Expected to release in October, each colorway is priced at £2,320 GBP (approximately $3,038 USD).
King Seiko KSK SHL
Seiko launched their new King Seiko KSK 6L collection, featuring three dial colors inspired by nature in Kameido, Tokyo: Garyu-Bai Red, Kameido Blue, and Tenjin-Fuji Violet. These dials are made in the style of ukiyo-e (Japanese woodblock art), each displaying a different textured repeated motif pattern. Inside the 38.6mm-wide watch case is Seiko's slimmest automatic movement, the 6L35 caliber, which offers approximately 45 hours of power reserve. Launching in October, the three new King Seiko KSK 6Ls are priced at £2,930 GBP (approximately $3,838 USD) each.
Prospex GPS Solar Chronograph Speedtimer
Dubbed by the brand as "the best next-generation chronograph to date," the GPS Solar Speedtimer is the first model from the Prospex series with a GPS-integrated caliber. Its design is inspired by the 1972 monochrome panda chronograph, and is offered in steel with black, white with silver, and an all-black variant limited to 1,000 pieces. The main feature of this watch is the 5X83 Solar GPS movement, which can measure elapsed time through its chronograph feature and can run continuously for up to 6 months when fully charged. The price ranges from £1,960 – £2,140 USD (approximately $2,567 – $2,802 USD), and the watches will be officially released in November.
All of the aforementioned models are currently open for inquiry or pre-order through the Seiko boutique website.
