Although A. Lange & Söhne recently unveiled the new Datograph Handwerkskunst at Watches & Wonders Shanghai, the German watch brand also presented another Datograph timepiece in Geneva. Specially created for the upcoming Philips auction, the Datograph Up/Down “Hampton Court Edition” will be sold as a piece-unique, with all proceeds going to the Prince's Trust charity.
This 41mm timepiece has a gray dial, is housed in a 750 white-gold case, and is complemented by black subdials and an engraved hinged cuvette — a combination the brand has never released before. All markings and decorations on the dial remain as distinct as the model's standard features, including the signature outsized date. To add some color to the dial, the chronograph hand is dyed a bright red that stands out from the rest of the watch.
An engraved hinged cuvette hides the caseback, which can be opened to reveal the L951.6 in-house movement inside. The outer cover is engraved “Concours of Elegance Hampton Court Palace 2024” along with a Pegasus silhouette.
In November, the Datograph Up/Down “Hampton Court Edition” will be auctioned by Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo, where it will be sold at an auction.
