Hyundai has announced its refreshed 2025 IONIQ 5 lineup, including the new adventure-ready XRT variant, produced at Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) in Georgia. The new model features improved battery capacity, longer driving range, and innovative features.
The new IONIQ 5 XRT offers enhanced off-road capability with features such as a 23mm suspension lift, AWD dual-motor, and durable 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires. The bold exterior design includes digital camouflage cladding, black badges, and unique fascias, ensuring the XRT stands out on any terrain. Inside, drivers will find H-Tex seating with exclusive XRT logos and a redesigned center console.
Additionally, the 2025 IONIQ 5 introduces Hyundai's first use of a Tesla North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, providing access to more than 17,000 Tesla Superchargers, doubling charging options without an adapter. This feature, along with the Combined Charging System (CCS) adapter, facilitates fast charging for IONIQ 5 customers.
José Muñoz, president and global COO of Hyundai, emphasized the company's commitment to expanding its EV lineup, saying that the IONIQ 5 XRT is for customers looking for more durability and off-road capability. Expected to get U.S. tax incentives, 2025 IONIQ 5 models will arrive in dealerships this fall, and pricing details for specific models are available through authorized Hyundai dealers.
