CHANEL released a watch with an 18k gold-coated woven steel chain, allowing it to be worn as a long necklace and detachable wired headphones. The PREMIÈRE SOUND watch is based on the brand's ORIGINALE ÉDITION PREMIÈRE timepiece and aims to take the piece to the next level. The 18k gold-coated woven steel chain is inspired by CHANEL's instantly recognizable chain shoulder strap found on the classic flap bag.
The ORIGINALE ÉDITION PREMIÈRE watch was first released in 1987 and features an octagonal case inspired by the iconic Chanel No. 5 perfume bottles. The case is restored in this edition with a matching 18k gold coating and a black watch face.
If CHANEL fans are looking for more from their watch than the time, they're in luck because it's now possible to listen to music with the watch's included detachable headphones. The headphones are subtle and sophisticated, with black color and gold accents. The CHANEL logo is located on the sides to distinguish it from standard wired headphones. The headphones use a 3.5 mm jack for USB-C audio adapters to use with various devices.
The CHANEL PREMIÈRE SOUND watch will be released in boutiques on September 2. You can view the piece in the gallery above.
