Pro-Ject is expanding their line of premium, design-forward turntables by introducing their latest, the Debut EVO 2. This turntable has a minimalist design and an attractive price that's no surprise- eye shock.
Made in Europe, the Debut EVO 2 is a belt-driven turntable with a straight 8.6-inch single-piece carbon tonearm. It comes pre-installed with a Danish-made Pick it MM EVO cartridge set and ready to use out of the box, as well as low-friction precision tonearm bearings. The turntable has a 12-inch platter made of die-cast aluminum – different from the steel platter construction of the previous model – with bearings made of stainless steel in bronze bushings; the platter weighs 3.75 lbs (1.7 kg) and has a TPE damping ring underneath to help with a smoother playback and listening experience. It also has height-adjustable metal feet to adjust the turntable according to your space or mood, and an electronic speed control that can quickly switch between 33rpm and 45rpm.
Since its founding in 1991, the Austrian brand has been known for producing some of the most sleek record players, and the Debut EVO 2 does not disappoint in this respect. It is offered in 10 different finishes that include nine hand-painted options in different colors, as well as a non-painted option with a real walnut veneer applied to the turntable. Each turntable comes with a dust cover.
The Pro-Ject Debut EVO 2 is available now through the brand's website and select retailers priced at $699 USD.
